UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA CERTIFICATE IN GIS
Geographic Information Science

Geographic Information Science is everywhere. Where once we drew maps, GIS now increases efficiency with which spatial data is collected, stored, mapped, analyzed, and visualized. It has been nothing short of revolutionary. The tools and techniques of GIS can literally be applied to any endeavor:
- health science
- business
- local government
- land use-planning
- environmental assessment
- academic and applied research in natural and social sciences

The University of Arizona offers state-of-the-art training in GIS through courses and hands-on application through the School of Natural Resources and the Department of Geography and Regional Development. This collaboration has produced a graduate certificate program in GIS for graduate students who wish to augment their graduate degrees, recent graduates who want more training before they enter the work world, and professionals who need to develop a new skill set or formalize their training in GIS.
